Lady Petite II

Description

Lady Petite II is a beautiful, unique, slipper launch. She was built by Andrews Boathouses in Bourne End in 1969, to a commission by her original owner. No. 484 from Andrews, she is the only 20ft Andrews Slipper launch with a wheelhouse.

Built of varnished mahogany on oak and in concourse condition, Lady Petite II seats five comfortably, with two free standing seats and a cushioned bench and varnished mahogany cabin floor. 

She comes with her complete history and specification Provenance Report by Neil Garside, as well as winter cover, mooring lines, fenders, boat hook and vintage paddle.

Lady Petite II has won the Thames Traditional Boat Rally Andrews Trophy in 1989, 1990, 2013 and 2015. She also won the inaugural Ford Trophy for best engine in 2016.

Engine Bay

Original (Sutton Power) Ford 989cc 105E petrol engine, fully reconditioned in 2011 to be suitable for unleaded fuel.

  • Borg-Warner Velvet direct drive, oil operated gear box with single lever morse control. Steering – Teleflex.

  • Rewired with genuine, cotton covered copper wiring throughout.

  • Electric, automatic bilge pump.

  • Exhaust pipe fitted with Vetus elastomuffle diffuser silencer.

  • Bespoke, wooden, vented and varnished battery box.


Construction

  • Planking: ¾” Mahogany

  • Frames: Sapele at 2′ 6″cente 2 ¼” x 1″

  • Timbers: Oak 1″ x ¾” two between each frame

  • Chine: Mahogany

  • Decking: ¾” Mahogany, with kicking strips to edges of foredeck

  • Finish: Varnished sides and decks


Wheelhouse and Cockpit

  • Frames and stiles ¾” Mahogany, mural varnish finish, fitted with divided windscreen each opening forward and upward. Wheelhouse sides fitted with sliding window to starboard and tumble-in, lift out pane to port. Wheelhouse canvas ‘sunroof’ with handrails and stanchions.

  • Cockpit sides Mahogany ½” varnished.

  • Two individual Mahogany bucket seats and aft bench seat, all with burgundy red vinyl covered cushions.

  • Solid mahogany floor boards with varnish finish, fitted in 2012 to replace original marine ply.

  • Two cupboards, with shelves, varnished and finished with panelled doors.

  • A car-type hood with side curtains to enclose the cockpit, into sunk recess aft, with fitted cover when stowed.

  • Winter / night full length cover in matching burgundy red
